  • Body of dolphin washes ashore at Rockaway Beach

    A badly decomposed dolphin washed ashore on Rockaway Beach Wednesday morning. Witnesses discovered an adult male bottle-nosed dolphin on the seacoast near 115th Street along Rockaway Beach around 10 a.m., a Parks Department spokesman said. The dolphin was found with possible signs of trauma and a rope tied around its body.
