LAS VEGAS (AP) -- The animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants a federal investigation of the death of a dolphin at The Mirage resort on the Las Vegas Strip.
LAS VEGAS---- MGM Mirage officials are investigating the death of a dolphin at an aquatic habitat at The Mirage on the Las Vegas Strip. Company spokesman Gordon Absher said Monday that animal care officials are trying to determine why the 11-year-old dolphin, named Sage, died Saturday morning.
PETA, People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals, is asking for a full investigation following the death of a dolphin last Saturday at The Mirage. Sage was born at The Mirage dolphin habitat in May 1997. PETA wants to know if negligence may have led to the animal's death.
